Legal Aid Costs Draftsman Jobs
SPH Costs is actively recruiting experienced Legal Aid Costs Draftsmen, Costs Lawyers and Legal Aid billing professionals to join our specialist costs team. This is a priority recruitment area for the firm. We are particularly interested in candidates with practical experience of CCMS billing, High Costs Case Plans, escape fee claims, prior authority issues, LAA queries, reassessments and publicly funded Court of Protection costs work.
This role may suit an experienced Legal Aid costs professional who wants specialist technical work, flexible working arrangements and the opportunity to handle complex Legal Aid costs matters for firms across England & Wales.

This is not a general Court of Protection deputyship costs role. The Court of Protection work we are particularly interested in is publicly funded Court of Protection Legal Aid costs work.
CCMS, HCCP And LAA Experience
Strong knowledge of CCMS and the Legal Aid Agency assessment process would be highly valuable.
We are interested in candidates who understand the practical issues that arise when firms are trying to recover payment for publicly funded work, including:

This is technical costs work. We are not looking for generic administrators. We are looking for people who understand Legal Aid costs recovery and can help firms progress claims efficiently.
Court Of Protection Legal Aid Costs
SPH Costs is also interested in Legal Aid costs professionals with experience of Court of Protection work where the matter is publicly funded. This may include Legal Aid costs arising from Court of Protection proceedings, rather than general deputyship or professional deputyship billing. Candidates with experience of Court of Protection Legal Aid costs, CCMS billing, high-cost matters or related publicly funded costs work are encouraged to make a confidential enquiry.
CostsMaster And Electronic Working
Experience with CostsMaster, electronic files, XML workflows or secure digital file handling would be useful.
SPH Costs works with modern electronic systems and supports firms remotely throughout England & Wales.
Candidates should be comfortable working with digital files, electronic documentation and remote instructions.
