Legal Aid Costs Draftsman / Costs Lawyer (CCMS & High Costs Case Plans)

​

Priority Recruitment Area

​

We are currently seeking experienced Legal Aid costs professionals with strong expertise in:

• CCMS billing

• High Costs Case Plans (HCCP)

• Prior authority applications

• Escape fee claims

• LAA costs recovery

• Costs appeals and reassessment work

 

This is a key operational area for the firm and we are particularly interested in candidates capable of managing Legal Aid files with a degree of independence.

​

Candidates may come from:

• specialist Legal Aid costs firms

• law costs drafting practices

• Legal Aid departments within solicitors’ firms

 

Strong technical understanding of CCMS and Legal Aid recovery processes is essential.

 

Detailed Assessment Costs Lawyer / Costs Draftsman

​

We are also recruiting experienced Costs Lawyers and Law Costs Draftsmen specialising in detailed assessment and inter partes costs disputes. Typical work includes:

• Drafting Bills of Costs

• Preparing Points of Dispute and Replies

• Paying party and receiving party disputes

• Detailed assessment proceedings

• Proportionality and recoverability issues

• Negotiation and settlement work

 

Experience in:

• CPR Part 47

• electronic bills

• paying party disputes

• advocacy

• higher-value inter partes litigation

is particularly desirable.

Court of Protection Costs Professional

​

We are seeking costs professionals with experience in Court of Protection costs work and SCCO assessment procedures. Typical work includes:

• Drafting Court of Protection bills

• General management bills

• Deputyship costs

• SCCO narratives and supporting documentation

• Electronic Court of Protection bills

• Assessment preparation and negotiations

Experience dealing with Court of Protection assessment procedures and OPG/SCCO requirements is advantageous.
