Solicitor & Own Client Costs
We are regularly instructed to deal with disputes between solicitors and former clients in connection with invoices rendered by the solicitor to the client. This is known as a Statute Act Taxation.
The Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012 has all but ended the recoverability of success fees and ATE premiums between the parties and the burden has now fallen firmly upon the client. The quality of the advice provided by the solicitor to the client when entering into a funding arrangement is now therefore of the utmost importance.
Our team of costs lawyers have many years' experience dealing with this archaic area of the law having acted for both solicitors and the party chargeable on many occasions.
Please contact Costs Lawyer, Andrew Armson to discuss your requirements:
“Andrew Armson worked efficiently and with an eye to costs, and achieved an excellent outcome for me. I instructed Andrew Armson to deal with an overly-high bill from my Divorce solicitor. An excellent result was achieved. Andrew is extremely knowledgeable in his subject, and with an eye to costs, all our business was conducted by phone and email.” Mrs J C, Private Client
