Mandatory Electronic Filing for Court of Protection Bills of Costs

November 11, 2019

With effect from 20th January 2020 the procedure for processing Bills in the Supreme Court Costs Office (SCCO) will fundamentally change in accordance with the 110th update to the Civil Procedure Rules.

The changes reflect the introduction of CE-Filing in the SCCO.

In the interim period, the new procedure can be utilised on a voluntary basis.

The relevant practice note published by the Senior Costs Judge can be accessed below:

It is noteworthy that following the receipt and acceptance of your electronic Bill the SCCO will issue you with a reference to enable you to send your file of papers to the Court within 5 working days.

We can assist with the entire process or provide guidance to our Clients as to how to use the CE-Filing procedure.
